Clyde

Clyde Chester Misfeldt was the second son of John Regard and Mabel L. Hubbard Misfeldt.  He was born January 20, 1916 at Thorp in Clark County, Wisconsin.  He graduated from Thorp High School in 1934 and always loved the Misfeldt family tradition of being involved in farming.

Clyde served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as an Electrician's Mate, 2nd Class.

Clyde married Louise Marie Herman on July 16, 1940.  He would later serve in the United States Navy during World War Two, earning an honorable discharge as an Electrician’s Mate, 2nd Class.  Other than during the war, Clyde and Louise made their home in Thorp.  He served as commander of the American Legion (Cecil Tormey Post 18) in Thorp and Louise served as President of the Legion Women’s Auxiliary unit.  Clyde also helped establish the High Ground Memorial near Neillsville in Clark County.

Louise Herman was born March 5, 1911, also in Thorp, Wisconsin.

Clyde and Louise had two sons:

  • Thomas John Misfeldt was born April 11, 1946; and,
  • Terry Charles Misfeldt was born May 22, 1950.
